"Those who can, do.  Those who can't...."

People often call me asking if I give magic lessons.  Sadly I do not.  There are, however, a number of places you can go to learn magic.  This is something you want to do.  Even if you don't become a professional magician, it can be a wonderful, fascinating, and enriching hobby.

A lot of instructional material is available and can be purchased either on line or from a reputable magic shop.  You can find a list of reputable magic shops here.  You can also usually find good magic books at your public library and even, sometimes, at larger book stores.  Your best bet, however is to contact one of the dealers I've listed and let them recommend something that is right for your age and interests.

There are several organizations you can join.  They are, in no particular order, the International Brotherhood of Magicians (http://www.magician.org/LocalRings/washingtondc.htm) and the Society of American Magicians (http://www.magicsam.com/).  Finally, if you are between the ages of 7 and 17 you should look into either of these fine organizations: http://www.magicsam.com/sym/ and http://www.magicyouth.com/join.html
